Lost
Lake Trail:
A 16 mile trail
run which begins at sea level, climbs to 2500 feet over 7 miles and then
drops back down to sea level over the next 8 miles. There is
approximately 3 to 4 miles of running across alpine meadows after you
reach the 2500 foot level where Lost Lake is located. You'll be
surrounded by a breath-taking panorama of snow covered mountain peaks,
high alpine flora and lakes that are crystal clear.
(3 to 4 hour run)
Crescent Lake Trail:
This trail is bordered
on each side by steep ascending mountains. You will climb to
approximately 2000 feet, reaching a high mountain lake (Crescent
Lake). The distance from the trailhead to the lake is 6
miles. The lake has some of the best grayling fishing
around. You can actually see the fish swimming in the stream
feeding out of the lake.
(3 hour run)
Exit Glacier/Harding Ice
Field:
This trail climbs along
Exit Glacier, which spills off the famous Harding Ice Field.
You'll be running alongside the glacier, with some of the most
indescribable colors of blue you can imagine.
(2 to 3 hour run)
Mt. Marathon:
This is a must see trail!
The famous Mt. Marathon race is run on this course every year on the 4th
of July. It is second only to the Boston Marathon in being the
oldest footrace in the U.S. This trail climbs 3000 feet in less
than a mile! What a workout, and what a view from the top.
All of Seward and Resurrection Bay can be seen on a clear day.
