CUSTOM MOUNTAIN TRAIL RUNNING ADVENTURES!

We're offering 2 custom mountain trail running adventures for the summer of 2002.  You can choose from either a 3 day/3 night or 4 day/4 night stay. These Adventures will include two to four trail runs which we will adjust according to the weather, individual needs, and what type of terrain you will be up for the next day. We will listen to our bodies to determine the types of workouts we will be doing. For the non running partner in your family, we also offer mountain trail hiking.  The hiker will traverse the same trails as the runner, accompanied by an experienced mountain hiker.
Home Page You'll run on mountain trails like this trail at Mt. Alyeska

Mountain trail running is one of the best conditioning workouts that you can do. Your legs will feel so strong by the end of your stay. Remember, we will adjust the runs for your individual needs.

RECOMMENDATIONS

HEALTH:
You should be able to run an hour without stopping and some hill training would be helpful (Stairmaster workouts), so you can come prepared and have a good time.  We are not racing.  We are taking you on some of the most spectacular runs you can imagine.

SAFETY:
There will always be communications while on the runs, first aid supplies, water, Gatorade, etc.  Some of our staff are EMT Wilderness First Responders.  We are fully insured.

WEATHER:
The weather will usually range from the high 50's to high 60's. with occasional temperatures in the 70's.  Summers are great, but it can rain!  Higher elevations will bring cooler temperatures, especially if it is overcast and rainy.  During the month of June, the sun is up until about 11:00 PM.  There is dusk for about 4 hours, then it is light again, so be prepared to experience daylight about 20 hours of each day.  Of course the daylight shortens after summer solstice on June 21st.  In late July the daylight is about 18 hours.

GEAR:
It is recommended to bring at least 2 pair of trail shoes, rain gear, light gloves, lightweight stocking hat, tights as well as shorts, and a windbreaker; all running-type gear of course!  A fanny pack with a water bottle is also highly recommended.  Sweatshirts and sweaters for cooler evenings.

All of our Mountain Trail Adventures originate from the Hope or Seward area on the Kenai Peninsula in south central Alaska.

The Kenai Peninsula is within 60 miles of Anchorage, Alaska's largest city. In addition to our majestic mountain scenery, the "Kenai" is home to some of the best salmon fishing in the world.
